Our Commitment to Supporting Non-Japanese Speakers

At our clinic, we are committed to supporting non-Japanese speakers with compassionate, English-speaking care. Language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and cultural differences can make even a simple clinic visit feel stressful—especially when you or your loved ones are unwell.

Because when we studied abroad in the United States, we often felt uncertain and anxious—especially when facing differences in healthcare systems and language barriers. With a young child to care for, it was particularly stressful whenever someone in the family got sick. We couldn’t afford to fall ill ourselves, and even though we had supportive friends around us, the worry was always there.

It was difficult to explain our symptoms clearly in a foreign language. We were unsure if we fully understood the doctors or if our health insurance would cover the necessary care. These challenges gave us firsthand experience of the many hurdles that come with living in a different country.

That experience is the reason we offer English-language support at our clinic. We hope to ease some of the anxiety that non-Japanese speakers may feel when seeking medical care in Japan. Whether you’re here for work, study, or family, we want to be a trusted supporter in your life—someone you can turn to when you’re feeling unwell, physically or emotionally.

How to Visit Our Clinic

We provide medical care in English whenever possible. If you are visiting our clinic for the first time, please follow the steps below.

Step 1. Make an Appointment

We recommend making an appointment before visiting our clinic. You can make an appointment in one of the following ways:

  • Online: Use our online reservation system, available 24 hours a day.
  • By Phone: Call our clinic during office hours. Our staff will help you schedule an appointment.

If you need assistance in English, please let us know when making your appointment.

If you have severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, or loss of consciousness, please seek emergency medical care immediately.

Important Information for Patients with Fever

To help prevent the spread of infectious diseases, patients with a fever or symptoms of a contagious illness are seen in our Fever Clinic, which has a separate appointment schedule from our regular outpatient clinic.

Please make an appointment in advance before visiting the clinic.

Appointments for our Fever Clinic become available from 12:00 AM (midnight) on the day of your visit.

When making your appointment by telephone, please let us know if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Other symptoms that may suggest an infectious illness

Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. Because the Fever Clinic operates on a separate schedule, we may not be able to see you if you arrive significantly earlier or later than your appointment.

Please note that walk-in patients without an appointment may not be accepted, depending on the availability of the Fever Clinic. To ensure that you can be seen promptly, we kindly ask all patients with fever or infectious symptoms to make an appointment in advance.

Step 2. Check In

Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment and check in at the reception desk.

Please bring:

  • Your Japanese health insurance card (if you have one)
  • Your passport or residence card (if available)
  • Any referral letter (if applicable)
  • A list of your current medications or your medication notebook (if available)
  • Mask

Masks are required inside the clinic. Please make sure your mask covers both your nose and mouth.

Step 3. Complete a Medical Questionnaire

Before seeing the doctor, you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire. For your convenience, you can complete the questionnaire online before your visit. However, an English version of the online questionnaire is currently not available yet.

If you need assistance, please use the translation function on your smartphone or other translation tools when completing the questionnaire. Alternatively, you can complete a paper questionnaire at our clinic after you arrive. Our staff will assist you as much as possible.

Please provide information about:

  • Your symptoms
  • When your symptoms started
  • Your medical history
  • Any allergies
  • Any medications you are currently taking

Providing accurate information helps the doctor understand your condition and provide appropriate medical care.

Step 4. Medical Examination

The doctor will ask about your symptoms and perform a physical examination.

If necessary, additional tests may be recommended, including:

  • Blood tests (performed at our clinic)
  • HbA1c testing (same-day results available)
  • COVID-19 or influenza testing (10 min.)
  • Ultrasound examination

The doctor will explain which tests are appropriate for your condition.

Step 5. Diagnosis and Treatment

The doctor will explain your diagnosis and discuss your treatment plan. If medication is needed, a prescription will be issued. Please feel free to ask any questions during your consultation.

If your condition requires emergency care, specialized treatment, or further detailed examinations, we will arrange a referral to an appropriate hospital or specialist.

Our priority is to ensure that you receive the most appropriate medical care for your condition.

Step 6. Payment

After your consultation, please return to the reception desk for payment.

We accept:

  • Cash
  • Major credit cards

Step 7. Receive Your Medication

Our clinic uses an outside prescription system, which means medications are dispensed at a pharmacy rather than at our clinic.

For your convenience, a pharmacy is located on the first floor of the same building. After your appointment, simply take your prescription downstairs, where the pharmacist will prepare your medication and explain how to take it.

If you prefer, you may also take your prescription to any pharmacy in Japan.

We’re Here to Help

If you have any questions during your visit, please do not hesitate to ask our staff. We are happy to provide medical care and assistance in English whenever possible and look forward to welcoming you to our clinic.
